Vocab Trainer

About

Vocab Trainer is a personal vocabulary trainer. It currently works with three languages: Russian, English and German. Learn the words from what you read yourself.

You read a text, underline unfamiliar words in red, take a screenshot and paste it into the browser with Ctrl+V. The app recognizes the words, translates them and adds them to your dictionary.

1. Import. Paste a screenshot of a text with words underlined in red.
2. Dictionary. The app recognizes the words and translates them, and you can review the result.
3. Quiz. Multiple-choice cards in both directions, with text-to-speech. Leitner spaced repetition decides on its own which words are due for review.
4. Drill. A study mode without answer options: flip the card, recall the translation and mark it yourself as Correct, Wrong or Skip. Answers feed the same statistics and Leitner schedule as the quiz. The side with the foreign word shows its part of speech, and the card frame is colored by its group: noun — blue, verb — red, adjective — green, pronoun — purple, adverb — orange, function words — grey.
5. Statistics. See which words are learned and which still need review.

Every user has their own dictionaries, statistics and progress. The app runs on a private server: your data is not sent anywhere except requests to Gemini for recognition and translation.
